Once you’ve developed your customer personas and continue to develop your marketing strategy, the next step is reviewing your value proposition. If you missed my last post about how to create your customer personas, check out this post first.
Sounds scary? Don’t worry, it’s not! Chances are you already know what this is anyway because it’s just a fancy term for what product or service you offer and what problem does it solve for your customers.
However, even if you think you’re clear on this, you really do need to spend some time reviewing this section and making sure it’s up to date. Over time (especially in small businesses!) things can change very rapidly and you might find that you’re suddenly delivering something that’s actually quite different to what you originally planned. So, you need to be clear on what you’re actually offering to your customers and how it solves their problems.
By doing this exercise and fully developing an up-to-date value proposition, you can make sure that it’s spot on for where your business is right now and that you’re very confident with it as you start to think about your key messages – which is the next part of the marketing strategy.
