We know creating content can be time consuming, so we want to help you to make it more “Let’s make content!” and less “Do I have to make content?”. With an overabundance of software options to assist your content creation, we thought we would take a look at the benefits of using Canva. At Freshbat we use Canva Pro to create graphics for almost all our content but you can still do a lot with the free version. This blog explores 6 fantastic ways Canva can elevate your social media content and make you stand out!
1. Templates
Templates are a great way to save time. There are multiple free templates within Canva, so even if designing graphics isn’t your thing, they’ve got you covered! Not only do the templates in Canva help directly with creating the content, but they also help to provide you with ideas. You may see something you like from one template and combine it with something you like from another, making it a great feature to speed up the process!
2. Elements
When using Canva, there is an option to add elements, but what are elements? Elements include many things, such as ‘Lines & Shapes’, ‘Graphics’, ‘Photos’, ‘Videos’, ‘Audio’, ‘Charts’ and much more. They act as little additions to your graphics which can make a big difference and help to make them stand out.
3. Image Editor
The image editor is an extremely useful tool when trying to achieve that professional look with your content. One of our favourite tools at Freshbat is the ‘Remove background’ feature, which becomes available through Canva Pro. It helps us to quickly lift our images and make them stand out. The image editor also takes the stress out of making adjustments to your uploaded photos, you can crop, fine-tune and add filters and frames to your images all in one place.
4. Brand Kits
Branding is extremely important when uploading content to your social media channels. It allows you to be consistent with your content and it also helps you to stand out from the crowd! However, we know that making sure your logo is present and that the colours are always matching your brand can take time. That’s why we use Brand Kits on Canva Pro! Once you’ve created your Brand Kit, you can always access the pre-set brand fonts, logo, colours and templates. Helping you to stay on top of your branding!
5. Canva Pro Video Creator
You may think that Canva can only be used for creating graphics. But you’d be wrong! Canva Pro’s video creator is a great tool for creating videos that look professional. Hiring a videographer is expensive, so why not give it a try yourself? The tools on the video creator help to guide you with pre-made templates and ideas. The simple drag-and-drop tool makes creating your perfect video a walk in the park.
6. Canva Team
Working in a small team to create social media content can sometimes be confusing and complicated when working virtually. However, it doesn’t have to be! Using Canva Team, you can work collaboratively and communicate with your team. Each team member can design from their own workspaces and collaborate on the same project in real-time. Additionally, there is a comment tool that allows you to tag members and leave feedback. So you can stay on top of multiple collaborative creations! The Brand Kits are also extremely useful when using Canva Team, as every member can stay consistent with branding.
We hope these tips have helped to inspire you to create amazing content. There are many other benefits of using Canva, but we thought we’d explore our favourites to get you started.
