When it comes to creating content on social media, one question we know you’ve thought of is “What should I post about?”. Creating amazing social media content is difficult when you don’t know where to begin. However, there are many ways for your posts to stand out from your competitors. In this blog, we’re exploring some of the tips and tricks that will help you to create amazing and consistent social media content.
Pick The Right Platform.
There are many different social media platforms to choose from when trying to promote your product or business. And as you know, when you’re running a business, finding the time to create and post content is difficult. That’s why to begin with, we suggest narrowing it down to 1-2 preferred platforms.
But how do you know which ones to choose? You’ll need to research what platforms your target audience use the most. This will help you to decide which to use first. After doing so, if you feel your chosen platform/s are getting good traction, you can work up to posting on multiple platforms!
Be Consistent
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Consistency is key when creating amazing social media content. Being consistent helps to put your content in front of your target audience. It may feel tedious creating content consistently and feeling as though you’re getting nowhere. But trust us, you’re making an impact on future customers! Someone that sees your post today may become a customer in the future, due to becoming aware of your brand from that one post.
Many people give up too soon as they don’t get instant leads; however, stick with it and you won’t regret being consistent! Using content pillars is a great way to keep your content consistent and structured as it allows you to stay focused on similar topics throughout the month. We find on average it takes around 6-9 months of consistent posting for you to start seeing those leads coming in.
Stay Relevant
Using social media holidays is a great way to keep your content relevant. It helps to improve engagement, which in turn grows your audience. Using social media holidays also helps to prevent getting stuck on what to share next as it provides multiple topics to post about!
Be Yourself
You might be thinking: surely it’s not that simple?! We know, we know; it sounds too good to be true, but it’s not. Being yourself helps you to stand out. People get bored of seeing formal posts from businesses and brands.
Plus, they tend not to take in any information from generic posts trying to sell them a product. So be yourself to stand out! Your business and your customers will benefit from getting to know you and your values. Try not to sound too sales-y and make your content informative, helpful and fun!
Listen to your audience
You can learn a lot from those that view and interact with your social media content. You can discover what works and what doesn’t work so well. Asking your audience for suggestions is also great, as you’ll then know exactly what they want to see. Acting on this information can help to grow your audience and increase your engagement. It helps to build trust and makes your audience feel valued!
