How short-form videos can make you stand out

In the ever-changing digital world that we live in, there are constantly new ways to help get your message out there. One of the latest and most popular trends is short-form videos. We know you’ll have seen them all over your social media feeds, but have you ever wondered why people love them so much? In this post, we are sharing the many advantages of short-form video and why you should be using it to stand out in the content crowd!

It’s less resource intensive

Gone are the days when you had to hire a videographer that spends hours creating and editing videos for you. All you need now is your phone! Short-form video content can take only a few minutes to create and it can be shared in seconds on platforms such as TikTok or Instagram Reels. So, you can get your message out there without taking precious time or money away from your business.

It’s quick to view

With the rise of social media and the millions of posts that are shared each day, your audience’s attention spans are not as long as they used to be. This is why short-form video is key in grabbing their attention. We’ve all been there, aimlessly scrolling through our social media platforms and then a short-form video appears, grabs your attention and then you’re hooked. Additionally, due to the small amount of information the posts tend to contain, it makes it much easier for your audience to remember!

It creates more engagement

Short-form video content is easy to view so it boosts your engagement. Your audience is less likely to scroll away if they notice that a video is under 30 seconds long (as opposed to a 20-minute video). After they have stopped scrolling for the first video, this often leads to them engaging with more of your content. This leads to a snowball effect of content engagement, showing how important it is to make sure your videos are short and captivating.

It’s extremely popular

We know you want people to see your content. That’s why you need to take advantage of the platforms created for short-form video due to the millions of daily users. You can build awareness of both your brand and your product or service by using these platforms. It is especially important to use the platforms if you’ve identified that your target audience would most likely be using them. By utilising the platforms’ services, you can make your content stand out and build engagement.

You can reuse previous content

Short-form videos don’t have to be made from scratch. Do you have any images or longer videos that you’ve posted on social media before? Well, you can reuse the images and add some text and music to make it more engaging. Or you can split up any longer videos you have to create multiple short-form videos in minutes. The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating short-form content.

There are many other advantages to short-form videos, but we wanted to explore the ones that we think are most important. If you haven’t already, think about the ways you could be posting short-form content. Be sure to put a plan in place and start as soon as possible. Remember to always be creative to help your content stand out!
